Product time

Everyone wants to know about products. What are my favorites? What do I recommend?

Here’s the thing.

I’m SO low maintenance when it comes to products. I wish I could say that I’m a huge product junkie, but I’m not. I don’t shampoo very often (literally every 14 days), so I don’t like a ton of product build up.

But I do have some personal favorites and recommendations, and I’m going to give them to you now!

My Go-To’s!

Shampoo/Conditioner:

  • I bounce between a couple. At home I use Moroccan Oil Repair or 3Butter by Biolage. I have super thick and dry natural hair so both of these shampoos are great for adding moisture. Fine hair might find them to be too heavy.
  • When I get a blowout at my local Blowout Bar, they use either Kevin Murphy or Oribe. (I love everything Oribe FYI. High price point but well worth the investment, especially if you are an extension wearer). I don’t have specifics from either line but for real, you can find something for every hair type in both of these lines!

Leave In Conditioner:

  • It’s a 10. Again this is an oldie but a goodie. For me, this is one of the best things for detangling my extensions. They comb right out after a shampoo.
  • Happy Campers by evo. This is one of my favorites at the salon. For some reason I don’t have any at home (ordering now…) but it’s super moisturizing without being too heavy.

Dry Shampoo:

  • Living Proof is my all time favorite. It does go on white and powdery, so if you’re a brunette, you’ll have to shake it out. I use this one at my roots starting immediately after my hair is shampooed and styled. If you start before you need it, you’ll find that it takes your hair a little longer to get oily!
  • Ouai. Goes on kinda wet. I will either blow dry it, or do my makeup while it dries. It doesn’t have the powdery look or feel. This has a super perfume-y smell, which I usually don’t love but this one smells soooooo good! I use this one through the ends of my hair and honestly more as a hair perfume than anything. Ya know, when you’re close to shampoo time but you still wanna push it a few days… this will save your life.
  • Eime Dry Me by Wella. Tried and true. Old faithful. I always have a can of this lying around in case I run out of the other two. I love this dry shampoo. It goes on powdery but shakes out easily.

Oil:

All of these are great treatment oils. I use one of them every am + pm. I rotate through them. Ghost Oil + 100 Proof are both clear oils so they are great for blondes (some of the yellow/orange oils can make blondes feel brassier faster – and we know thats a no-no).

Other Recommendations:

  • Root Canal by evo and Thickening Spray by Bumble and Bumble are great root lifters. If you are a fine haired babe who struggles with volume, check these out! You would want to use either one after a shampoo. Blow dry for best results!
  • Haze by evo is a great pump powder for texture and volume at the root. It’s the last step to your style and is great if your hair feels too soft and silky. It adds a little grit.

There are literally a million different products and product lines out there. These are my current favorites for myself and my clients! If you have tried or are going to try any of them, let me know what you think!

Style away babe. Send pics!

xoxo
